R.W. ALLEY’S SEASONAL PICTURE BOOKS: ACTIVITY

Best Audience: Children Grades 00-02

ABOUT THE ACTIVITY

In the R.W. Alley picture book series from Clarion Books, young Gretchen’s roly-poly toys always have a part to play in the action and in Gretchen’s vivid imagination.  In her hands, the sweet egg-shaped toys can become stars in the sky, fish in the sea, or even penguins on the ice.

Curious City has taken an excess of plastic Easter eggs and turned them into the charming roly-polys.  You can do this activity in conjunction with a read aloud from any of the four books in the series.  Curious City even had a silly afternoon making a stop motion movie of the roly-polys on the move!
