To celebrate the picture book Bow-Wow Wiggle-Waggle, a book about both play and wordplay, author/illustrator Mary Newell DePalma and Eerdmans Books for Young Readers gave away over 200 red balls in 2012-2014.
I wish there were more, but all the balls have been thrown to dogs and kids across the country. We hope this book inspires you to pick a ball of your own and PLAY!

Kirsten Cappy of Curious City, however, has turned her attention to running the nonprofit she co-founded. I'm Your Neighbor Books uses children's books to build a stronger America, one where immigrants are welcomed and where first, second, and third generation Americans truly belong.
