The team here at Curious City is also the team that started the nonprofit, I’m Your Neighbor Books. The project seeks to change the conversation on immigration—-using children’s literature.

I’m Your Neighbor Books invites you to find children’s books that represent immigrant through 2nd generation communities to build a collection that reflects your community. They also sponsor the Welcoming Library, a touring collection of picture books and discussion materials designed to build conversations on immigration, welcoming, and belonging.

To help fund their work (including a new website coming 11/11/20), the children’s literature community (authors, illustrators, publishers, librarians, educators, and booksellers) are coming together for two events in October. Join us!
